Not working at work

This is not something I recommend, as it usually gets one relieved of one's duties. But today, there was very little work done. Shortly after I arrived this morning, I was informed that our internet-based program we use for about 99.9999% of our work was down. As usual, I sent the email letting the developers know we were down, and could they pretty please make it work again. I then get a call from our in-house "computer person" saying that our company's ENTIRE website is down, not just the work program. We got this explanation: "A server went down, but we should have it back up shortly." That was about 8:15 this morning. It's 3:45 now, and there is still no work to be done. This is somewhat unusual because the guys out in Colorado are usually quick to fix and communicate. Not so much today.

Here is some of what was accomplished today:

Read Google Reader several times
Read the news so much, I can recite the current events
Shopped for books for my summer class (did you know you can rent textbooks?!?)
Co-workers shopped for wedding gifts
We three did #4's hair for bridal portrait this afternoon...with paper clips
Some read a book...or two
Balanced checkbooks
Surfed for recipes
Went for a long walk in the warehouse, you know, at break-time

We've been checking in to see if the site is back up throughout the day. We've been trying to work, honest! Hopefully, we'll be go for launch tomorrow, because we're already behind
